Gulf Air Group Aircraft Hangar Complex

Located at Bob Sikes Airport in Crestview, FL, the Gulf Air Group Aircraft Hangar Complex is a 70,000-square-foot aviation facility designed to support aircraft maintenance, repair, and cargo operations. Opened in August 2025, the complex is the largest hangar facility constructed at Bob Sikes Airport and supports Gulf Air Group’s growing operations, including maintenance and servicing of L-382 Hercules aircraft.

Working with Corbin Construction, ACI Building Systems supplied the metal building system, including structural framing, roof and wall panels, hangar door support framing, and structural accommodations for overhead crane systems. The primary hangar measures 379 feet wide by 160 feet long, with an eave height of 66 feet, 4 inches and nearly 58 feet of minimum vertical clearance. The building features a 24-gauge StratoShield standing seam roof and 26-gauge PBR wall panels.

The hangar was engineered to accommodate the substantial clearance and equipment requirements of large aircraft maintenance operations. Two 160′ × 30′ bi-parting stacking hangar doors provide access for aircraft, while two 5-ton underhung bridge cranes and two 1-ton monorail crane systems support maintenance and equipment handling within the facility. The structure also incorporates specialized framing to accommodate the oversized door openings and overhead equipment loads.

With its expansive interior, specialized structural systems, and large aircraft access openings, the facility provides Gulf Air Group with the space and capabilities needed to expand its maintenance operations at Bob Sikes Airport.
