Located in Madison, AL, Huntsville Fire Station #20 is a 6,858-square-foot facility built to expand emergency services in one of northwest Huntsville’s fastest-growing areas. Officially opened in August 2024, the station features two apparatus bays along with dedicated living and operational spaces for firefighters, including private bedrooms, a kitchen, dayroom, exercise room, and equipment storage areas.
Working with Pearce Construction Company, ACI Building Systems supplied approximately 38 tons of steel for the project, including 24-gauge Snow White StratoShield standing seam roof panels and 7.2 wall panels. One of the building’s most distinctive features is its 72-foot, 6-inch continuous StratoShield roof panel, manufactured in a single piece to accommodate the roof’s extended length. The metal building components provide durability and weather protection for a facility designed to operate around the clock.
The new station strengthens Huntsville Fire & Rescue’s ability to respond to fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, and severe weather across the surrounding community. According to city officials, the addition also extends the department’s ISO Class 1 fire protection coverage into northwest Huntsville, helping qualifying residents and businesses benefit from lower insurance premiums. With improved emergency response capabilities and dedicated space for firefighters, Station #20 represents an important investment in the area’s continued growth and public safety.
