In September 2023, we broke ground on a $7 million expansion at our facility in Batesville, Mississippi. Today, that 36,000-square-foot addition is complete and operational, giving us more space, new manufacturing capabilities, and greater capacity to serve customers across the country.
Investing in Our Future
The expansion includes a new fabrication shop with state-of-the-art equipment designed to improve efficiency and increase production. The added space and equipment, including machinery for producing tapered columns for pre-engineered metal buildings, give us the potential to double our production output, shorten lead times, and take on more projects.

More Than 35 Years in Batesville
The project is the latest in a long history of growth here in Batesville. When Bill Watkins founded ACI in 1990, the company operated out of a 19,000-square-foot facility with just 30 employees. Over the years, we’ve continued to expand our facilities, grow our team, and provide more than 20,000 steel buildings for customers across the United States. That growth has also brought continued investment and new opportunities to the community we call home. This latest expansion is expected to create approximately 80 additional jobs over the long term, and we’re continuing to hire as production increases.
