Located in Southport, Maine, Hodgdon Yacht Services provides maintenance, repair, and storage services for vessels along the Maine coast. To support these operations, the company added an 8,000-square-foot metal building designed to accommodate large boats, specialized equipment, and the demands of a working marine facility.
ACI Building Systems partnered with Summit Steel Solutions to supply the building package, which traveled more than 1,500 miles from our manufacturing facility in Mississippi to the project site in Maine. Measuring 80 feet wide, 100 feet long, and 32 feet tall, the structure features a 24-gauge StratoShield standing seam roof with 40-foot one-piece roof panels, 33-foot one-piece PBR wall panels, and 26′ × 30′ framed openings to provide access for large vessels and equipment.
The building was engineered to withstand the challenging weather conditions of coastal Maine, including a 50 PSF ground snow load and 130 MPH design wind speed. Additional features include a snow guard system and R-30 roof insulation to support the facility’s year-round operations.
With its large access openings, durable metal building components, and structural design tailored to the region’s climate, the facility provides Hodgdon Yacht Services with the space and protection needed to maintain and service vessels throughout the year.
